The Kowie Museum, originally housed at the old train station in Port Alfred, is now situated at the Bathurst Agricultural Museum in Bathurst, since September 2024.

The Kowie Museum is open 9am to 4pm (Mon-Fri) and 9am to 1pm (Sat & Sun) on request. Established in 1982, the Museum preserves, catalogues and displays records of Port Alfred’s history and its people.   Displays include Victoriana, naval and railway artefacts, photos and paintings of Port Alfred, including Xhosa customs and beadwork.   There are extensive 1820 Settler records (Morse Jones cards) and a number of valuable books.
